Jarrod's first Triathlon

Today we went to Willard Bay to watch Jarrod do his first Triathlon. Jarrod had to swim 1 mile then bike 24 miles then run 6. Yes he is crazy!! Here are some pictures of the day's activities.

Things I have learned...

Don't stress so much about life, no one gets out alive anyways!

You might as well make the best of it.

If you don't eat right, you will rust!

EXERCISE!!! Keep your gears turning!

We all have to age, but we don't have

to rot!

People can be rude!

People are going to bug the Heck out of you!

Take a deep breath and try to stay positive!

Race to Cure Diabetes

As most of you know our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes little over three years ago. It can be frustrating at times, watching what he has to go through. Some people think, at least it's only diabetes. Yes it is true, things could be a lot worse. I just don't think people realize what these kids have to go through. They are pretty much on life support everyday. It's all about keeping their blood sugar in check, not to high, not to low. You can call Nurses, Doctors, and send in the records. But all they do is give you suggestions on what to do. Nothing stays the same, it changes on a daily basis, activity level, emotions, etc.... It breaks my heart to see what these kids have to go through. In the mean time we just try and stay positive and make the best of it. On Sept. 11 there was a motorcross race to sponsor JDRF. Jarrod entered the race to help raise money to hopefully find a cure. So everyone that has Type 1 diabetes won't have to suffer anymore. Some of the pictures are of the Pro's that came to help out. The double bike was part of the Thrillbillies crew, they recorded part of the race for one of their shows. It was a fun and long day, but worth it if they find a cure!

School Year 2010-2011

Sigh of relief-School. Well, it's that time of year again. Gotta love it! I know I will be wishing they were back home in a couple of months. They were both excited for school to start this year. I will admit, it was kinda boring shopping for uniforms this year, but on the other hand it was nice because they didn't have a huge selection to choose from.

Shaylee is a SIXTH grader this year , middle school!

She was a little disappointed when she found out she

did not get recess this year. She was excited about getting
her very own locker.

I really can't believe Shaylee just turned 12. Where does the time go? Seriously! I don't think I'm old enough to have a daughter in YW( Young Womens) She went to YW for the first time last week, and loved it! We love you Shaylee HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We did it!!!

We ran our first 5K as a Family... I know this post is late but as they say Better Late then Never, I just had to let everyone know (and maybe brag a little) that we accomplished our goal we set as a Family at the first of the year. The Boy's ended up winning the Girl's this time. Shaylee needs a little more motivation!!

In Loving Memory

Today we lost a very wonderful women. She was a wonderful wife, mom, great grandma, friend, but to me she was my Grandma. She will always have a special place in my heart and I will always Love and Miss Her. I don't think I knew anyone else that could love the way she did, no matter what the circumstance. Her love was ...pure and true and you felt it every time you were with her. I Love You Grandma.

Mothers Day

I Love that were able to take a special day out of the year and honor our moms.

I love how this project turned out, and I think my mother in law loved it too. She's wanted to get the kids handprints for quite sometime. So I came up with this idea, I cannot take all the credit. I did get some help from my grandpa and sister in law my grandpa routed the edges for me ,and my sister in law did the vinyl for me. I like giving gifts that are meaningful.
Hmm, Now if we had more than just one day to thank us for alll we do!;)

This is one of our Favorites:

Poppyseed Chicken

6 chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1c. sour cream
2Tbsp. poppyseeds
2 stacks crushed Ritz crackers
1 1/2 cubes butter

Boil chicken; chunk it. Place in bottom of a greased casserole dish. Mix soup and sour cream over stove. When mixed well, pour over chicken. Melt butter; stir into crumbled Ritz crackers and poppyseeds. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Snow Much Fun

We went sledding with my family today to Celebrate 2010

It was a good start for the New Year. Let's hope it continues.

We have set a goal to run a 5k as a family in the spring.

Jacob's 9th Birthday

As you can see I'm a little behind on my blogging. Jacob's birthday was in December.

It's hard to believe Jacob is already 9. Where does the time

go? I think it's kinda funny he's such a huge Steelers fan, especially since his dad is a huge Broncos fan. We have a rivalry

at our house during Football Season.

Taco Soup

Here's the Taco Soup for everyone who wanted it.


1 lb ground beef
1 onion (chopped)
1 green pepper (chopped)
2 large cans diced tomatoes
2 cans tomato soup
2 cans of corn
4 cans of bean (drained) (any combo of pinto, dark or light kidney beans)
1 pkg taco seasoning

Brown the beef, onion and green pepper. Add additional ingredients.
Cook on low for several hours in a crock pot or on your stove top for 1 hour.

Top with tortilla chips, cheese and sour cream.

You can freeze the left overs for another day!

Labor Day at Knolls

The kids thought that it would be fun to try rafting in the pond.

It was pretty funny watching them trying to row from one end to the other.

The kids liked searching in the rocks for the Horney Toads

they all thought it would be a great idea to take them home and

raise them, there were a lot of broken hearts... Shaylee thinks she wants a Gecko for Christmas now. Hmm... I don't think so!

Summer wrapped up

This was a bittersweet moment... They're excited
to be back at school. I'm not sure I'm ready to
be back at work, I've enjoyed my freedom.

Shaylee is headed off to FIFTH Grade! This is
her last year in elementary. It's going by way
too fast!!


Jacob is headed off to the THIRD Grade! It
seems like just yesterday I was sending him
to kindergarten.
